Fall Fashion Trends 2019- key pieces to stay on trend

Fall has arrived. Top fall fashion trends for 2019 made their runway debut months ago. Now the time has come to pull out the boots, sweaters, and leggings. Along with those timeless fall pieces you have to be sure to spice things up with this season’s hottest looks. Of course this means we all need to update our wardrobes with a few key pieces to stay on trend. This certainly doesn’t mean you need to break the bank and do a complete overhaul to your closet. Besides most of these pieces are great to have in your wardrobe beyond this season. In my recent Youtube post I cover the pieces you might want to splurge on and how I would style them. The list below will give you inspo for styling these pieces as well.

Leather & Lace

Leather is definitely on trend this fall. Of course when it’s paired with lace the look is tres chic. This season it’s all about mixing feminine lace tops with sleek leather bottoms. However if you’re not ready to shell out hundreds on real leather, there are several faux options you will love. In the picture below I’m wearing the jett lace blouse from the House of CB. The pants are a faux option from Express.

Power suiting

I love seeing a woman in a suit. Especially when it fits her just right. Tom Ford said it best, “A well tailored suit is to women what lingerie is to men”. Even though the power suit is one of the fall fashion trends for 2019 you should always have one on hand. You know, just in case you need to conquer the world in style.

Neon hues

Bright and bold neon colors should be in your closet this season. Of course we are all use to seeing these hues in the spring, but please don’t be afraid to embrace this trend. You can ease a few pops of neon into your look with handbags and shoes. If you’re a little more adventurous sport a neon pant or skirt with a neutral top.

Tweed & Patterns

Tweed is certainly a classic that will never go out of style. But this fall in particular you should wear it often. Not just to work. I’m talking to those of you who think its to bland for street style looks. Rock a tweed blazer with ripped jeans or a denim skirt. Sport plaid or herringbone pants with a bodysuit.

Statement Sleeves

A statement sleeve is all the rage for fall, so look for pieces with exaggerated shoulders and details. You want the detail to catch the eye in an unconventional way so look for a full sized sleeve which flows into a tight cuff. or a puffed shoulder with ruffles.

Striking Hats

Oh how I love a hat. But this season’s trend for hats is not about the common beanie or cap. This fall you want to step out of the box and don an alluring headpiece. Here you have the opportunity to throw the neon hue trend into the mix. So dare to wear a fuchsia fedora or a classic beret with a veil accent.

Satin

This season satin is on trend. Which is great because satin is a luxe fabric that can look expensive without draining your budget. Of course you have to wear it right. It’s better to wear satin as a top rather than a bottom. It’s much less forgiving on the bottom, especially if its to tight. As Michael Kors says, “No human being should wear tight satin”. Pair a satin blouse with your favorite jeans or wear a satin cami with a tweed skirt.
